Safety Recall Notice: S-Series and K-Series Wheelchair Lifts

Vapor Ricon Europe is conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain S-Series and K-Series platform (wheelchair) lifts. This recall is being monitored by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the UK government body responsible for vehicle safety recalls, and is being carried out in accordance with the Code of Practice on safety defects and the UK General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

What is affected

The recall covers S-Series and K-Series platform lifts manufactured between 1 January 2024 and 23 June 2026, including the following part numbers:

  • S-Series lifts: S1132, S1200, S1231, S2005, S2006, S2010, S2014, S2036, S2038, S5503, S5505, S5510, ST00, ST01
  • K-Series lifts: K1132, K1200, K2003, K2005, K2010, K2015
  • Cargo lifts: C5052, C5055

What is the issue

Under certain conditions, the platform lift motor could remain energised and move unintentionally, even after the operator has commanded the lift to stop. This increases the risk of injury to the lift occupant or others nearby.

What we are doing about it

We will install two diodes within the lift’s electrical system wiring. This prevents voltage from a failed contactor holding the circuit closed and ensures the motor contactor de-energises properly when the operator commands the lift to stop.

This repair kit is provided free of charge. Once the powerpack has been accessed, the retrofit takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, and can usually be carried out during the vehicle’s next routine service.
