The safe embarking and disembarking of public transport is a key consideration in the vehicle’s design and for some passengers it can be the difference of making a journey or not. Leading innovator in vehicle access, Faiveley Vapor Ricon Europe, renowned for its high quality lifts and ramps, has now added access Steps to extend its range.

The Steps range boasts seven products, each one is approved for the Transport of Persons with Reduced Mobility and conform to a range of standards including Vehicle Accessibility, Electromagnetic Compatibility and the Machinery Directives. The range is available in electric, manual and swivel operating modes therefore offering a greater choice for vehicular compatibility.
Both the electric and manual range are available in three widths, whilst the electronic swivel step is available in 400mm width only. All steps have non-slip surfaces and are resistant to corrosion.
There are also additional safety features to the new Step range from Vapor Ricon including; the electronic steps boast additional slip resistance in the form of a TBS polyurethane coating, the manual steps include a Wiring Kit which include a dashboard light to indicate when the step is extended, whilst the addition of the Swivel Step is designed to allow 6 possible variants for vehicle positioning meaning that it can easily rotate left or right.
