For years, Olympians and Royalty have turned to high-end vehicle convertors, Overlander, to design and supply high specification horsebox and leisure vehicles. Vehicle Considerations
A fundamental aspect of Overlander’s strategy was to ensure that all conversions came in below maximum vehicle weight regulations. This focus on compliance became crucial when incorporating safety features and accessibility products. Vapor Ricon’s ramp and lift products not only met the weight requirements but also showcased the latest technological practices and materials, providing robust, high-quality solutions without compromising vehicle weight.
The Project
Overlander had contracts to convert a number of MAN TGE and Renault Masters, 3.5 tonne vehicles into nine and 12 seat minibuses. Depending on application either the Ricon S series lift notably the S2036 lift or the new Vapor Ricon Swivel Ramp were installed. A key safety feature in both applications was the safe and quick egress and access of the vehicle. Vapor Ricon Europe’s latest ramp, weighing just under 40kg, emerged as the perfect choice for school buses. Its ability to swivel out of the rear of the vehicle in case of an emergency added an extra layer of safety. Additionally, the Ricon S Series lift, known for its high specifications and credentials, was chosen for the passenger transfer application. The split platform lift parts in half, ensuring excellent egress and access while maintaining optimal driver visibility.
