An Oxfordshire based courier company has enjoyed measurable benefits after specifying and installing a Faiveley Vapor Ricon lift to facilitate one of its major contracts.

TCB Couriers worked with the Faiveley Vapor Ricon team to determine the correct lift to enable heavy and cumbersome helicopter engines to be loaded into a small van to ensure health and safety requirements were met.  The chosen lift enabled the easy loading and offloading at airport bases where the engines and parts had to be collected from and then delivered to.

Mike Dickinson, sales manager at Faiveley Vapor Ricon identified the requirements of this quite unique request and found a lift that suited both the vehicle specification and the demands of the client.

TCB Couriers needed a lift that could support the weight (250kg) and the size (approximately a Euro pallet) of the helicopter engines and that would allow them to fulfil their contract with ease.

The engines are often required to be collected at short notice for repairs, servicing and maintenance for the military, air ambulance and police services and equipping a smaller van that required one employee and no other specialist lifting equipment would allow TCB to fulfil the contract professionally and efficiently.

The S2014 solid platform life is typically used for passengers. However, with the handrails removed it gave a width of 1029mm compared with 885mm of the cargo lift. This wider platform gave easier access for TCB Couriers allowing them to reduce manual handling, increase time and contract efficiencies. It highlights the adaptability of Faiveley Vapor Ricon products across a range of applications and industries.
